BALLS!
It's been almost a week since I bored you to death. My apologies. It's been a good week though!
By all accounts, the Bridge and Tunnel/ Gnarwolves/ Great Ancestors show last Sunday was awesome. I, in true "it's my day off and the sun is out..." fashion, went to the river, got drunk and not only missed the show, but the gaps in my memory tell me that I missed the majority of events that took place that evening. Which seems to be quickly becoming the story of my life. Because I am a moron. Whoops.
Saturday. Champions League Final day... Well, let's just say it hasn't quite sunk in yet...
Last night was The Skint's fundraiser show. For those of you that don't know, they had their van and all their gear stolen from basically outside one of their houses. It's not been a good couple of weeks for punk bands and their equipment, but you lovely people didn't disappoint with the amount of support you gave both The Skints and The Menzingers. It was awesome to see so many people come out and sing, dance, drink, buy merch, donate money and all sorts. Let's just say that we're pretty proud to be part of such a strong a community that looks after it's own, so thank you all for that.
This week it's all about this:
Mon 21: Outside The Box Comedy - Zoe Lyons/ Nick Wilty/ Barry Castagnola/ Maff Brown.
Tues 22: Take Me Home/ Our Lost Infantry/ Automated/ Guests Like Ghosts
Wed 23: Death of an Artist/ Palm Reader/ Housefires - (we had a blast last time these guys were here...check 'em out...)
Thurs 24: Direct Hit! (USA)/ The Price Duifkes (BE)/ Anonymous Tip - FREE ENTRY!
Fri 25: No gig, but we'll just be hanging out... being rad... you should join us...
Sat 26: Grim City Kids/ UKID/ Bad Habit.
So there's a little bit of something for everyone this week it seems!

Then, there is The Lurkers (who had their first record released by Beggar's Banquet!)

mmmm...sweaty...
So all in all we've had a pretty sweaty week in the venue. Two mental Anti-Flag shows, then The Menzingers last night. SO WARM but SO GOOD. It's been an absolute blast, we can only hope that you guys enjoyed it as much as we did!
On that note, anyone who saw the post about The Menzingers getting robbed, they posted this the other day:
"We have incredible news. Eric, Greg and Dave March have all been able to sort out new passports in time for us to leave the UK. We have to extend our deepest and lifelong gratitude to the folks at Banquet Records. Through donations to our PayPal and the fundraiser set up by Banquet Records we are able to take care of our loses. We’ve closed all fundraising!
We’ve never felt such a sense of overwhelming gratitude, support, and community in our lives. There truly has never been such a strong affirmation of our life choices and the outstanding character of our friends and the people who listen to our music and care for us. From our friends at home to our friends abroad, the names popping up of people who have helped us have brought tears to our eyes. We love you all so much.
There will never be a way to thank everyone enough. Money and possessions will come and go throughout our entire lives. The memory and feelings of being a part of and embraced by such an incredible community during a time like this will absolutely last forever.
With Love,
Tom"
So that's awesome news!
This week, for your delectation and delight:
Monday 07/05 - Outside the Box Comedy!

Friday 11/05 - Banquet Records: Cobra Skulls/ Uniforms/ Everything We Left Behind. tickets|facebook
Saturday 12/05 - Weirdsville: Mojo Kings/ Dynamite Pussy Club -FREE ENTRY- facebook
Pretty good eh?
(edit: I forgot to add that The Menzingers left us doughnuts, so we like them quite a lot. The doughnuts weren't great but it's the thought that counts!)

Anti-Flag day 2:
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
Considering the massive lack of sleep courtesy of many, many after work beverages with Justin Sane and the guys from Versus the World and the intense hangovers experienced by ALL that followed, Wednesday may have been even better? I don't even know how that's possible. After getting the pub back into shape, de-sweating the venue and consuming copious amounts of paracetamol and spicy food, round 2 was in full swing.
It was really good to see so many of the same faces from the night before, it literally felt like one massive party, which is ALWAYS a good thing. And then, to follow it up, New Noise at Bacchus was actually good fun! Now, New Noise is normally good, but fuck. I don't know what happened this week but it was mental. So good. SO DRUNK. Not bad considering the general consensus was "we'll go for one..." famous last words and all that!
So you should totally go and check out all of the bands, they were all fucking awesome guys and we had the best time!
Radio Alcatraz
Such Gold
Versus the World
Anti-Flag
And as always, check out the people that made it happen at Banquet Records. Don't know what we'd do without 'em!
Speaking of Banquet, this weekend see's the return of The Menzingers. I'm pretty excited about this, which made the story I read the other day pretty fucking gutting:

Speaking of Banquet, this weekend see's the return of The Menzingers. I'm pretty excited about this, which made the story I read the other day pretty fucking gutting:
"So.. We were robbed in Manchester last night…
Ok so here’s what happened…
We played a sold out show at The Moho last night in Manchester which ended up being the absolute best show of tour. Seriously! Stagedives, singalongs, shots of mystery liquors.. It was one for the books. An afterparty started to form at a bar down the street. In the great moods we were in we decided to partake and spent the night singing and dancing to The Cure and Springsteen with The Souls, Red City Radio, Leagues Apart, and tons of friends.
Dave March (our driver/front of house/lifemate/best friend), Eric (bass player/ good looking one) and I decided to only have a beer and then hit the road. Tom and Joe were going to take a cab back to the house. Ok cool. Everything’s going great. We walk around the block To the van and I hear Dave give a quiet “oh fuck”. The driver side window was smashed out and 3 personal bags were stolen. Unfortunately my bag was stolen with all of our tour money inside it. To top it off, we brought around $2000 in US cash with us in case of an emergency. So let’s see €5000 Euros, an iPad, 3 iPods, 3 passports, 2 pairs of raybans (I know, I know they’re super expensive but they make you look pretty cool), my personal tour journals from the last year and a half which included all of my “On the Impossible Past” lyrics and all of my god damn memories, a digital camera, prescriptions, blah blah blah.
This sucks. It really fucking sucks because it’s not your fault and so many, in fact an absurd amount of you want to help out. It’s pretty surreal and heartwarming to know we’re not alone in this situation. Thanks, thanks, thanks. Cant tell you how much it means.
The absolutely wonderful folks at Banquet Records have set up a donation drive for us. They really are the best. If you live in the UK and care to help you can donate there. I hear they’re matching donations which is just too nice. Too nice.http://www.banquetrecords.com/MenzingersAppeal
While we’re extremely apprehensive about this we’re going to open up our paypal account if you care to donate. We don’t expect much and we feel extremely uncomfortable putting our hats out like this but here’s our paypal account if you care to help: MenzingersSkrilla@gmail.com
Tom made the account name up years ago. Sounds about right.
We’ll find a way to make it up to you by way of acoustic demos, new songs, free shows. Whatever. Thanks for the help. Love you all.
-Greg"
That really does suck. So yeah, please guys, if you can spare anything at all for 'em, I'm sure it'd be appreciated, Banquet have set up a donation page and stuff and the link is here:
Just further proof that these guys really are pretty nice. If you are at the show on Saturday, it's more important than ever to actually show some real support for the band you're there to see!
See you later boys and girls! xo

Such Gold are also playing "New Noise" at Bacchus afterwards. I'm pretty sure you get in free if you have a wristband from tonight's show as well!

Mon 25/06 - Dan Andriano in the Emergency Room/ Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds - Dan Andriano of Alkaline Trio and Brendan Kelly of The Lawrence Arms playing their new/old solo material!
Fuck yeaaaaaaaah.
I'm off to nurse this horrific hangover.
